economic sustainability
Let's grow healthy
Let's grow healthy
Economic sustainability is particularly important for companies. A company that operates sustainably does not want to grow at any price, but focuses on a long-term existence and on "healthy growth". Decisions are not made here on the basis of short-term, quick success, but an attempt is made to create a framework and structures in which growth is embedded.
An increase in sales, for example, should never take place at the expense of the environment or the employees - unfortunately this is mostly the case in the textile industry and this then has a negative effect on the other two areas of sustainability.
Economic sustainability is therefore the opposite of many start-ups that are hell-bent on rapid growth and simply burn a lot of resources (money, people, etc.) in the process.
As already mentioned in the section on ecology, companies that operate in an economically sustainable manner should only produce what is actually used or sold. Overproduction and then throwing things away or selling them below their value is not economically sustainable either.
Why does everything break down so quickly?
The products and services provided are also affected. If products have a shorter life cycle, the company usually (probably) has lower development and production costs and the customer will buy a new one at shorter intervals, which increases the sales figures and thus the turnover.
However, this is not sustainable at all. Neither for the environment nor for you as a customer.
The only one who benefits from this is the manufacturing company.
For you, this means in concrete terms that sustainable, high-quality clothes are not only sustainable for the environment and people, but also for your wallet in the long term.
Why is economic sustainability important?
Economic sustainability is an important factor for the success of companies and the sustainable development of society.
Companies that act in an economically sustainable manner not only contribute to economic stability, but also to conserving resources and reducing environmental impact.
What are examples of economic sustainability?
There are now many companies that are successfully implementing economic sustainability. Examples of this are companies that specialize in renewable energies and thereby contribute to the energy supply without polluting the environment.
Another example are companies that rely on recycling and thereby conserve resources and reduce waste. Companies that offer fairly produced and traded products also contribute to economic sustainability by ensuring fair wages and working conditions.
As already mentioned in ecology, companies that operate in an economically sustainable manner should only produce what is actually used or sold. Overproduction and then throwing things away or selling them below value is also not economically sustainable.
The products and services provided are also affected by this. If products have a shorter life cycle, the company usually (probably) has lower development and production costs and the customer will purchase a new one at shorter intervals, which increases sales figures and thus sales.
However, this is absolutely not sustainable. Neither for the environment nor for you as a customer.
The only one who benefits from this is the manufacturing company.
What this means for you is that sustainable, high-quality clothes are not only sustainable for the environment and people, but also for your wallet in the long term.
How do you achieve economic sustainability?
Economic sustainability can be achieved through various strategies. For example, companies can optimize their production and processes to save resources and energy and increase their efficiency. Collaborating with other companies and organizations can also help promote economic sustainability. It is important to pursue a long-term strategy.
Governments can also create incentives through policy measures such as funding programs or tax breaks to encourage companies to act in an economically sustainable manner.
Consumers can also help promote economic sustainability through conscious consumption by purchasing products from companies that follow sustainable business practices.
